Just Released: Video from the Data Center Summit at Metro Connect USA 2016

Blake Mitchell
March 3, 2016

How is the data center ecosystem changing to position itself for the future?

Though answers vary widely depending on whom you ask, one thing's for certain: big changes are taking shape. In order to continue meeting customer demands, data center service providers must continue to redefine and differentiate their offerings, from colocation to the cloud.

At Metro Connect USA 2016 earlier this year, Anthony Rossabi, Managing Director and SVP at Digital Realty Trust, and Chris Downie, former CEO of Telx, joined a handful of other panelists to discuss the changing data center ecosystem.

Speaking in the roundtable discussion titled "Data Center Summit: The Intersection Between Connectivity and Data Center Infrastructure," Tony, Chris, and the other panelists explored issues like:

  • The intersection between connectivity, bandwidth, and providing data center infrastructure services
  • How different pieces in the data center ecosystem, like wholesale colocation, retail colocation, managed services, and cloud computing fit together to help providers remain competitive
  • How rising demand for edge computing and local caching is affecting the data center ecosystem

Tony and Chris joined the following panelists for this discussion, which was hosted by Bank Street and Schneider Electric, and moderated by Bank Street Senior Managing Director Richard Lukaj:

  • Grant Van Rooyen, President and CEO of Cologix
  • Mike Hagan, VP of Sales at Schneider Electric
  • Kevin Bostick, CFO of 365
  • Chris Morley, President and COO of Strategic Business Segments at Zayo Group

The discussion, which was the final session of Metro Connect USA 2016, was a great one. Check out the below video for highlights from Tony's participation in the roundtable discussion.
